DUTIES:(The duties described reflect the full performance level of this position)

Provides technical expertise and assistance in identifying potential proposed, threatened, endangered, and sensitive (PTES) plant species and communities. Conducts field analysis for sensitive plant inventories and documents the results. Performs work which includes inventorying using GPS technology; education/awareness; and monitoring.

Uses a variety of specialized tools, equipment, and materials to carry out procedures, methods and practices in support of one or more of the biological sciences. Analyzes data and test conditions.



Qualifications and Evaluations

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 06: Qualifying experience for the GS-6 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to GS-5 which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. The specialized experience required for some positions in this series is normally work performed in a controlled environment.



SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirements for the GS-6 level may be met by completion of 6 months of graduate level education (9 semester/13 quarter hours) in a position-related field of biological sciences.



COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements.

Grade 07: Qualifying experience for the GS-7 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to GS-6 which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. The specialized experience required for some positions in this series is normally work performed in a controlled environment.

Positions may be filled as career ladders (GS06/07) or could be filled at the full performance level at the GS-06 or GS-07 dependent upon the individual unit's needs.

These are permanent positions with varying tours of duty and may include weekend work. Some positions may have irregular and protracted hours of work. Tours of duty include full-time or less than full-time (guaranteed minimum 13 pay period's full-time employment).
