JOB SUMMARY:
The Bureau of Indian Affairs is the lead agency for the United States in carrying on a government-to-government relationship with the tribal nations. This position is organizationally located in the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Southwest Region, Southern Pueblos Agency, Trust Services, Branch of Forestry, Fire Section, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

THIS POSITION IS A SECONDARY-ADMINISTRATIVE FIREFIGHTER POSITION UNDER THE SPECIAL RETIREMENT PROVISIONS OF 6(c).  THIS POSITION REQUIRES PREVIOUS FIREFIGHTING EXPERIENCE.  Applicants must meet the basic OPM qualifications standards and the following SELECTIVE FACTOR:  Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of wildland fire fighting as demonstrated by wildland fire fighting experience.  Please read the vacancy announcement thoroughly and submit all necessary information.  A pre-employment drug test is required.
