Successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality care for emergency patients presenting to the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. Candidate must possess and maintain the appropriate professional knowledge, competencies and skills to respond promptly and expertly to the need for emergency medical care. Candidate must also have effective communication skills and work cooperatively with all staff that care for emergency patients and their families. Candidate must be compliant with VA policies and procedures as well as those of the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and its' medical staff. Candidate must be physically capable of shift work, including nights. The ideal candidate will have completed an approved training program in emergency medicine, internal medicine or family practice and is board eligible/certified and should have recent emergency department or critical care experience. Current ACLS certification is required. Board certification in Emergency medicine is required.

Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen (non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
