Medical Officer, GS-0602-13/14/15 (OVERSEAS)

SALARY RANGE: 70,615.00 - 127,604.00 USD /year OPEN PERIOD: Monday, January 05, 2009 to Monday, January 04, 2010

additional referral lists will be generated throughout the open

 Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of four years 
based on the needs of the agency without further competition.
 Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five 
years based on the needs of the agency without further competition.
 Supervisory Position :  This vacancy announcement may be 
used to fill Medical Officers, Supervisory Medical Officers or Lead 
Medical Officers.
- Research Position :  Some positions maybe filled as  
research positions.  Candidates should include all 
pertinent information regarding their research 
accomplishments, e.g. list of publications and 
presentations.
- Promotion Potential:  Some positions may have promotion 
potential based upon properly classified duties.  
Promotion to the next grade level is at management's discretion and 
is based on you meeting qualifications and time-in-grade 
requirements, demonstrated ability to perform the higher level 
duties, the continuing need for the higher level duties, and 
administrative approval. Promotion to the next grade level is not 
guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.

- In addition to the normal salary range, when 
applicable requirements are met, this position 
may provide additional compensation through one 
or more of the following:  Physicians 
Special Pay, Physicians and Dentists Pay under 
Title 38 (PDP), Recruitment or Relocation Incentive.

Overseas Assignments: Overseas assignment are for two years 
and a rotational agreement must be signed. The assignment may be 
extended based on the needs of the agency. 

  • These position are eligible for special pay allowances (e.g., post differential, housing, relocation, etc.)
  • Immunizations are required and will be administered by the CDC before relocating overseas.
  • Department of State medical clearances are required for applicants and all family members befor being posted overseas. Inability to secure medical clearances for overseas duty will result in termination of appointment to the position.
  • Citizens or permanent residents of the host country are not eligible for consideration.
