SALARY RANGE: 86,927.00 - 153,200.00 USD /year
Physician's Comparability Allowance (PCA) of up to $30,000 per annum may be paid based on the selected physician's assignment, qualifications, experience, and duration of negotiated service agreement.

This position is being filled through the Direct-Hire Authority for this occupation and is open to all US Citizens. JOB SUMMARY:

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), Division of Extramural Research (DER) is seeking applications from exceptional, visionary candidates with distinguished records in basic, translational and/or clinical neuroscience research to serve as Program Directors for the planning, evaluation, and administration of research on neurodegenerative disorders including  Alzheimer's disease (AD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and stroke including hemorrhagic, ischemic and hypoxic brain injury. In addition, NINDS is also seeking an imaginative and resourceful neuroscientist with a strong background in bioengineering to lead a program of basic and clinical research in Neural Biomedical Engineering.  This is an exceptional opportunity for five candidates to join a highly interactive group of scientists and clinicians at the NINDS who are working across all areas of neuroscience and on a wide range of neurological disorders.
