SALARY RANGE: 117,787.00 - 177,000.00 USD /year
Based on a HHS certified performance plan for SES. Executive level compensation package is commensurate with qualifications and experience, which may result in a higher salary than reflected above.

Indefinite for Distinguished Consultant.  Executive level compensation package is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointment may be made to the Distinguished Consultant program with executive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is excepted service under Title 42 U.S.C., Section 209(f) which does not confer any entitlement to the competitive service and Merit Systems Protection Board appeal rights.

This position is located in the Office of the Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Atlanta, Georgia.  The incumbent of this position serves as a senior staff member who plays a key role in the enhancement of CDC's leadership in core public health sciences, centered on CDC's global health activities. 

The efforts of CDC are centered on a set of five fundamental priorities designed to accelerate health impact, reduce health disparities, and protect people at home and abroad from current and imminent health threats.  These CDC's priorities will help ensure Agency focus, resources, and support for five key priority areas: Improving support to states and localities; Strengthening surveillance and epidemiology; Strengthening CDC's global health work; Improving policy effectiveness; and Positioning CDC to address health reform.
