Serves as a member of the administrative support team/unit in a Field Audit Office (FAO), providing a variety of office automation and other support services to the auditor staff including updating and maintaining the DCAA Integrated Information System (DIIS), inputting audit management data and producing reports from the DCAA Management Information System (DMIS). Provides a variety of systems maintenance and update, security, user support, and related functions for DIIS. Adds and deletes temporary users, maintains public, common, and private directories, and updates LAN and subsystem applications. Assists users in accessing and utilizing the various DIIS applications, routines, and printer configurations. Serves as liaison between staff and contract outsourced computer technician by coordinating and assigning work. Has primary administrative support responsibility for processing public vouchers and for timekeeping. Assures all timesheets have been released for certification and input into system. Processes timesheet corrections and releases timesheets for absentees. Types contract audit reports, correspondence, and forms from handwritten or electronic drafts using advanced features of word processing software and ensures proper format, spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Performs various administrative support functions as back up to others on the team/unit and in support of the FAO.
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade in the federal service or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the equivalent grade level if outside the federal service which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
For GS-05: Experience performing a variety of administrative support functions which includes the use of office automation software (word processing, spreadsheet and databases); retrieval, update and storage of electronic data; preparing, editing and final formatting of documents and reports; making travel arrangements; processing mail; files management and customer support/telephone coverage.
For GS-06: Includes the above, and experience providing a variety of support services to include updating and maintaining automated information systems, software updates, equipment configuration, user access support, and related functions.
In addition, applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute in order to qualify for this position.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
For GS-05: Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable.
For GS-06: Six (6) months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
