JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

This Position will Require Periodic Overseas Deployment


About the Position: ******SPECIAL NOTE's: This position has been pre-identified for deployment overseas in support of contingency operations and is designated as Emergency-Essential. The position will be permanently assigned to the LRD Districts listed above, but with the incumbent identified as being in a deployable status for at least 4 years. The expected deployment time during this 4 years is a minimum of 12 months and maximum of 24 months. The initial targeted deployment location is Gulf Region Division (GRD), Iraq or Afghainstan Engineering Division (AED) but other assignments anywhere in the world are possible if needed to support of a military contingency operation or, other crisis overseas. Failure to deploy when designated for a contingency assignment may result in separation from federal service.

  • This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively; therefore, the position is designated "key", which requires the incumbent to be screened from military recall status.
  • Veterans' Recruitment Authority (VRA).
  • Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) eligibles.
  • All U. S. citizens.
